I take your privacy very seriously.
This policy is effective from 1 September 2019 in line with the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) legislation.
Due to the nature of our work I may ask you to give me information about yourself so I can make sure you receive the appropriate services. This policy explains your privacy rights and what happens with this information.
I (Angela Diac) am registered as the Data Controller for Angela Diac Counselling with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). I am responsible for the collecting and processing of your personal information.
Information I collect
I collect your name, telephone number, email address, age and GP details. I will also write brief notes of sessions.
How I store information
I keep brief notes recording the themes of our counselling sessions that are stored in a locked filing cabinet and shredded confidentially 3 years after your counselling sessions end.
Any personal information stored online will be kept on a password protected computer.
Your telephone number will be stored on my mobile phone under your initials until your sessions end and then deleted.
How I use this information
I will use your contact details to engage in my work with you according to our contract. I may use email address or telephone number to respond to enquiries, questions or other requests.
I’ll never trade information to third parties in any way whatsoever.
Your rights and Access to Information
You have the right to ask to see any information that I’ve collected about you and you also have right to ask me to remove data from my records. Find out more about your rights on the ICO website
